Downtown Flagstaff Haunted History Tour

About This Ghost Tour

Flagstaff, Arizona was once a sleepy little railroad settlement at the base of Mount Humphries. It managed to survive and thrive and today is a town with ghosts, rather than a ghost town. It’s past has been preserved in the city’s historic downtown district, where the colorful characters that once walked the streets are brought to life by eerie tales and ghostly stories from knowledgeable guides.

Meet John Weatherford, eccentric builder of both the Orpheum Theatre and iconic Weatherford Hotel. Smile at kindly Dr. Raymond, beloved town physician, who built his home and offices on Leroux St. The 1926 train depot and Hotel Monte Vista are not only of historic note–both buildings are known as supernatural hotspots. Shiver at the tragic story of Marie Walkup and her murdered children that occurred during the town’s 1937 hey-day. And shake your head at the 1988 trial of George Abbott for the murder of Sarah Saganitso in which the Skin Walker defense prevailed.

What To Expect on Your Guided Tour

When the day and time have arrived you’ll meet your group at the proper location. We ask our guests to arrive five to ten minutes early so your guide has time to greet your party and check you in. The guide will have the night’s itinerary at hand so your job is to show up in comfortable clothes and walking shoes and be prepared for whatever pops up during the tour. Several of our guests have captured orbs on phone cameras so feel free to snap away. Freaky Tours would love it if you share any images you capture and we’re working on a website where images and experiences can be shared.

Let's hear out some of the success stories

I did the Halloween ghost tour of Flagstaff with a bunch of friends and wow was it fun. Dre's stories not only where interesting they also had a lot of humor and theatrics to it. As someone who has lived here for nearly a decade I also learned a ton about local history and events. I would, and have, recommended this for others and will definitely go and do another tour in the future.

Excellent tour with great stories. Dre does a wonderful job narrating and setting up the story, while dealing with the normal city noise behind him expertly. Flagstaff has quite a bit to discuss within easy walking distance to City Hall. Definitely worth checking out, but make sure to dress warmly!! There's not as much walking to keep you warm as you'd think as everything is so close together.

Flagstaff Freaky Foottours was one of the highlights of my trip to Northern Arizona. Though I am not normally into "scary stories" and was not sure what to expect, it was honestly wonderful! Yes, they were ghost stories, but the tour also presented a new side of Flagstaff history that I would have otherwise never heard about. It was honestly fascinating! The tour guide was very informed and personable and the entire tour was just overall very organized. Would absolutely recommend! :)
